Sehar Batra is a cinematographer and filmmaker from Delhi, India. After more than a decade of practicing still photography, she expanded her passion for visual storytelling by pursuing an MFA in Cinematography in Los Angeles. Her body of work spans short films, documentaries, and music videos.

While she enjoys exploring a wide range of genres, Sehar is particularly drawn to intimate, psychological dramas, slice-of-life narratives, and offbeat comedies. Her recent noir Paper Swans screened at festivals worldwide, earning accolades such as Best Noir and Best Short.

Sehar’s versatility as a cinematographer is reflected in projects like the sci-fi action film The Invisible Empire, the visually experimental fantasy Aastik, and the mockumentary Only Toofans. Her experience in creative development on films such as Dhadak 2 has further strengthened her storytelling instincts, which she brings into every frame she crafts. Over the past two years, she has refined her cinematic voice under the mentorship of Pascal Lebegue AFC and Suki Mendevik ASC.

For Sehar, storytelling remains at the heart of her work, guiding her in creating visually dynamic and emotionally resonant imagery. She recently completed work on the coming-of-age period film A Fox’s Tale and the drama Tamales, and continues to seek projects that challenge her creatively and tell compelling, meaningful stories.
